Moreton Bay Marine Park

The Moreton Bay Marine Park is a amazing and beautiful place and it is a privilege to be able to use this water way with a PWC, however we all know there are PWC riders who are doing the wrong thing. We need to step up and help to protect this wondering environment.

So what do you need to know as a member of the SCJSC and rider of a PWC? Well first lets focus on the basics here, The Moreton Bay Marine park is amazing and has some of the most wonderful preserved waterways in Australia and we need to ensure we look after this.

To ensure we play a active role in protecting the marine park follow the golden rules:

 Each PWC operator must

• not operate within buffer zones or protection zones;

• stay within the navigation channel when travelling in conservation zones;

• operate off the plane in “turtle and Dugong go slow areas”; and

• operate your PWC in a way to avoid hitting a turtle or Dugong.

Please also read and understand the Queensland Goverment Enviromentail Protection Agencies Information Sheet on the Marine Park for PWC operators it can be found here...

Rememeber you the skipper and your responsbile for your actions, there is NO EXCUSE for setting a poor standard for PWC and if you do this can lead to your removal form the club as a member.
